Vision and Mission

The vision of Ahfad University for Women is to provide secular education that is essential to achieving improvements in nutrition, health, child care,community  development, and for preparing young women for life in the emerging urban society of Sudan by creating significant new opportunities for higher education for Sudanese women.   The belief is that educated women are influential in changing the society. Ahfad students would focus on world class education and preparation for leadership positions for women in a non-political environment has remained the basic purposes of AUW.

To fulfil the AUW’s vision. the Students Affairs Office supervises the students’ different extra-curricula activities, throughout the year., initiates and encourages student’s activities within the country and students exchange programs with International Universities.  In addition to degree-oriented programs, AUW is committed to improving life and opportunities for families in the rural areas of Sudan. This is partly accomplished through Programs, in which AUW students participate.  As part of these programs students live in rural areas and plan and participate in projects designed to impart knowledge and organization skills to women living in rural villages. The objective is to help rural women become change agents in their communities.

 

Activities

The Office develops short term courses in tailored to train the students in topics that are related to the needs and interests of Sudanese communities.  Courses include:

leadership development

communication and advocacy skills

awareness

courses last between one to three weeks and are designed for each group of students.

Trainees are awarded certificates upon completion of the courses.

 

Legisilations and Regulations

These legislations aim to regulate and organize the relationships between the students, the university

the faculty members, and among the students themselves.They are meant to keep and preserve, what the university has stated along history, through all its founders, leaders directors and teachers, and all who have participated in the progress of the university .

 

The objectives and Values are

(1)              Keep all means of wisdom and good characters of the Sudanese people that respect all religions and country.

(2)              Respect the Ahfad University for Women, its leaders and all its values that call for active work

and continuous learning.

(3)                Develop initiative values on the students who are considered the leaders  of the future, who will be holding what they have learnt beside

the support they gained from the Ahfad University for Women.

(4)                The students are considered the initiated youth who are full of enthusiasm, so instead of holding

over them backward rules, they should be advised and encouraged to be creative, and capable of

leadership.

(5)                Help to create good relationships, between the students and their teachers, depending on active

and reward, instead of punishment.

(6)                Depend on flexibility and justice more than hard regulations.

(7)                Continuously keep what was set along history by the leaders and staff of Ahfad University for

Women that is good relationships love and solidarity.

 

Ahfad Students Association

The students have the right to establish their association according to the following rules:-

a)   The association should be named the Ahfad students association.

b)   All the students has the right to join or not to join the association.

c)    The students have to pay regularly little contribution to the association beside the registration

fees.

d)   The association activities are considered additional programs but not to contradict the lessons

timetable.

e)   The association activities should be scientific, social, and cultural beside sports. But all have to be

related to the academic studies.

f)     All the activities should be inside the university, not outside it, unless there is a certain permission

from the Vice President.

g)   The association should not invite individuals or groups from outside the university to participate

in its activities unless there is a permission from the Vice President.

h)   The association constitution should not contradict with the universities regulations and rules.

What is contradicting should be cancelled. A copy of the constitution should be handed to the

Vice President and not to forward it to be on action, unless it is accepted and passed by the Vice

President.

i)     The names of the members of the executive committee of the association should be handed to the

vice President. Those members are responsible, as individuals and group  in front of the Vice

President, and the committee which is  concerned, with their activities, disorders, and any

complaints against them.

j)     According to what has been stated above the authorized committee has the right to stop any

activities or programs against the rules. Also the committee is authorized to solve the problems

between the association and the students or between its members. While the decisions of the

authorized committee are considered final and should be accepted.


Codes of Conduct

The student inside the university or any unit affliated to the University, is obliged to keep the

Following codes:

*Respect herself in order to gain others respect.

*Respect the university’s regulations and rules.

*Respect the faculty members and the boards of the university.

*Maintain respectable and good relationships with her colleagues,considering solidarity and avoiding abuse.

*Consider reasonable care for the university’s buildings and belongings, using them properly and avoid destroying them.

# Should avoid, what will despise or supdue her, or allow bad rumours.

# Should be well aware, that she represents a respectable leading educational institution. SO she is obliged for showing good representation, and to be a role  model for the others.
